long time no see. sorry, i should have blogged to you sooner having been home from camp for quite a while now but i was...oh who am i kiddin, im not gonna give you some long-winded reason, i simply didn't blog cos i didn't want to yet, ok ;P
ok, well first things first, camp was AWESOME! i know i was really worried & nervous about it b4 i left but i needn't have been, aparently i did fine as an assistant leader, i even got to work with the worship band a couple of times which was great :) the 2 leaders that were looking after us assistant leaders & leading our quiet times spent the last few days catching us one by one for a kindof de-briefing to ask us what we had enjoyed about being an assistant leader, what was good about it, what could be improved for next year & what had impressed them about us over the course of camp. i was quite happy to learn that what had impressed them about me was the way that, the day we went to flamingoland, i wandered round in the company of one of the younger pathfinders, who had originally made plans to go round with the girls in her tent but changed her mind when they decided to double up with another tent that included one of her sisters. they were impressed that, rather than trying to palm her off to some other leader or another group of pathfinders, id stayed with her the whole day. it was great though, i thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent together cos she's such a lovely kid, we had a great day & i told her a lot about the first year id gone there myself, it was brilliant :)
another great thing about camp was that the team i was in, the musicals team, won the competition games, thats the 2nd time out of the 3 years i've gone that my teams won ^^ im very proud of them, heres a photo of us all together the night of the sandiley 2011 oscars premier
now, moving on, we've now only got 2 of the kittens left, having found homes for three of them. both black ones are still here chasing each other round, dads adament that we're finding homes for both of them but if my subtle persuasion skills continue to work on mum i should find myself owning a cute little black cat all for my very own lol :) here's some pics of the little bundles of fur ^^
last monday was spent in Edinburgh with my grandad at the Edinburgh Festival for the sole reason of buying the new book of the Skulduggery Pleasant series, Death Bringer, & meet the author, the Golden God himself, Derek Landy. i stood in a queue for 3 HOURS (!!!) waiting to get mine & jess' (cos she couldnt come with us) books signed by the man himself. it was tiring, it was hot & yes, my back ached considerably from standing so long while holding all those books (Death Bringer is the 6th in the series, i had 2 copies plus the other 5 books from the series, which makes a total of 7 books) but oh my dear blog-readers, it was most definitely worth it for that shining moment when i fianlly reached the front of the queue, had a friendly chat with the Golden God & got mine & jess' books signed. it was GREAT! & there's a couple of photos of the man himself! (above)
thursday night i had a sleepover with 2 of my best friends ever, jess & amelia. it was great. we had pasta for tea, doritos & dip to eat while watching various episodes of Supernatural (brought by amelia) & i made, wait for it...BAKED ALASKA! yes, i can acshuly make the revered & wondrous dish, quite well too, im so proud lol :P we were still awake at about 2 watching supernatural when we decided we ought to switch off & get some sleep lol, all in all, a great night with the girls :)
